Hampton Inn Orlando International Drive/Convention Center

The room was tidy and well kept, and the bathroom was clean. It had the usual microwave, refrigerator, and coffee setup. Check-in went very well and the service was great. The convention center isn’t right next door, but it’s close enough for easy access. I believe breakfast runs from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., which should suit my needs.

Everything in my room was clean, quiet, and functional, and it was a little above the standard I expect at a Hampton Inn. The front desk folks were terrific and welcoming. The lobby and breakfast area are large enough for a team sized group, and breakfast was excellent. The Universal Blvd location is great for the convention center, Universal Epic Universe, and ICON Park, with around 100 restaurants and fun things to do within walking distance. Parking costs $5 a day, which wasn’t great. I’d rather have that included in the room price than find out about it after booking.

We checked in around 6 p.m. on 12/23, two kids, my husband, and me. Everything seemed fine at first. On Wednesday the shower knob had to be held a certain way or it made a horrible sound. When we returned from our first theme park visit, housekeeping hadn’t come by or even changed the towels. My husband wanted to wait another day. Three large towels for four people wasn’t much, and the AC also needed a battery change before it would work, though they replaced that quickly. On Thursday, after our second park, there still hadn’t been any housekeeping. We went to reception, and the man there said rooms were cleaned every other day. I asked why they hadn’t come that day, and he said he’d make sure they came on Friday. Someone did bring clean towels and conditioner and take out the trash that evening. But on Friday, after our last theme park before leaving Saturday, we came back to find no housekeeping again, no fresh towels, and the previous day’s trash still there. I’m definitely not staying again. When I went to return the key, the receptionist was too busy looking at her phone and texting.

We were in a 26 ft Box truck, and the hotel had truck parking. I can’t say whether it works for larger trucks. For my Husband’s resort delivery work, it was ideal: a nice room, parking, and a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, potatoes, and more, all worth the price. Hampton Inn and Suites at 8900 Universal Boulevard did all that and more. My Husband arrived early on a sold out night. Around 12:52pm I spoke with Jonothan, who said they were a little behind but working on it. I appreciated his honesty, since it meant we could go shopping, eat, and come back. At about 2:28pm on Saturday 01/03/26, I called again because we were tired and ready to lie down. I spoke with Jenny, if I heard her name right. I explained that we’d booked an accessible room, but the person joining us could no longer come, so we didn’t need that type of room and would take any room. I’d already told Jonothan the same thing when he said they were sold out. Jenny told us to come in, just as heavy rain started. She was informative and helpful, explained parking for the truck, and suggested restaurants and things to do nearby. Her customer service was kind, organized, and empathetic, even while she was dealing with everyone else. A package arrived about an hour later, after my phone charger stopped working. Jenny noticed it had been delivered and passed it to my Husband while a line of six people waited, then kept helping them. A couple of hours later, after I ordered pizza, she called to say Dominoes had left it there. She made our stay relaxing and enjoyable, and I’m thankful for all her help. I can’t wait to return for our Summer Vacation in July. I LOVE THE HILTON 👏🏽
