Rosen Inn International

The free shuttle to Universal was really handy, easy to book, and we used it a few times. It got a bit crowded on the return trip, though we could’ve walked back. The location was convenient. Our room was spacious, clean, and nice, and when I had an issue, the staff did a great job helping me move rooms.

We’ll never come back. Complaints went nowhere, and management made no effort to fix anything or compensate us for money lost on faulty equipment. Save your money and sanity, and stay somewhere else. I rarely write reviews this negative, but our stay at Rosen Inn International (7600 International Drive) was a nightmare. For a hotel that promotes its location, it failed at basic hospitality and maintenance. The laundry machines were broken and poorly maintained, and I wasted $50 on one load. The arcade had multiple broken machines that still took money. It felt like if there was a way to take your money without delivering the service, they’d find it. When I raised the laundry problem at the desk several times, I got indifference and was told it was a “third-party company,” so it wasn’t their problem. As a paying guest, I think the services they contract out are still their responsibility. I was out $50 and still had wet clothes. The rooms were very outdated and dingy, neglected, and frankly unsafe. There was black mold on the ceiling that looked like it had just been painted over to hide it. The room door locks were temperamental and failed half the time, so getting in took several tries and a lot of frustration.

We’ve spent lots of holidays here, my daughter and me, and are due back in three weeks. It feels like our second home. The value is amazing. It’s basic, but has what you need, and the beds are super comfortable and spotless, which matters a lot to me. The gardens and two pool areas are well kept, and kids will love the pools, which stay open late, the playground, and the arcade games. There’s a lovely bar on site with a great happy hour and gorgeous bar food. We haven’t tried the restaurant, but it’s handy for breakfast and dinner. Staff are excellent, especially the cleaners, who are lovely and chatty. We’ve gotten to know some of them on our regular visits, and they speak highly of Rosen and take pride in their work. If you need extra towels or toilet paper, just ask. They’re always around with their trolleys. The location is excellent too, with plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance and public transport right outside. Super Walmart is five minutes away by car, or $6 in a cab.

We come three times a year and love staying here. The rooms are great and really comfortable, and the location is great. Everyone on staff is friendly, from the pool towel guys and cleaners to security. It’s a shame the buffet restaurant has now closed in the evening.
