The Florida Hotel & Conference Center

As a blind person, I never know quite what to expect from a hotel or destination when we travel. The customer service at the Florida hotel really impressed me during my weekend stay. From the gentleman who welcomed me by the car to the front desk and room service, everyone was awesome. It was the best hotel stay I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it for a vacation, staycation, or any reason you’re visiting. Such a great experience!

The staff are lovely to deal with, and it’s always clean. This is an old hotel, though they’ve put a lot into renovating it. Getting there is a hassle, with several miles through some shady areas in Orlando, but once you arrive you have what you need. I had one of the updated bathroom showers. It looked nice, but there was only half a glass door. The sliding piece was missing, and there wasn’t a track or anything suggesting one was going in. Water ended up across the floor and a fine mist reached the counter, walls, and other surfaces. They might want to rethink that setup.

We had a great stay, and all three of us, my mother, sister, and me, enjoyed the trip. The hotel is connected to a mall that my sister and I liked visiting, and the Starbucks by the lobby on the first floor was handy for breakfast. The food there was delicious and affordable. My sister also had fun at the clean pool. Our room had two beds, was very clean, and came with plenty of towels and free mini toiletries. Check-in and checkout were both easy and stress free. Parking was simple, with lots of space even though the lot was busy. The exterior looked beautiful, especially the entrance with its flowers and fountain. We came because my mother had a work conference, but my sister and I especially enjoyed the vacation side of the trip. We’d consider staying again.

I’ve been here twice and like it a lot. There’s a shuttle to Epic and Target, and the gym is decent. It’s also inside the mall, with Chick-fil-A and Starbucks there. The front desk staff are warm and welcoming, and there’s a microwave in the room.
