Universal Endless Summer Resort — Surfside Inn and Suites

For the price, Surfside Inn & Suites was a great choice, and I would stay again despite the noise. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and helpful, and our one-bedroom suite worked out well. We arrived at noon to find our room ready, and they also gave us a one-hour-later checkout. It's not walkable to the parks, but the bus is convenient, never took long to arrive, and gets you to Universal/Islands of Adventure in about 10 minutes or Epic Universe in about 15. The bus between the hotel and City Walk/Universal Orlando/Islands of Adventure stops at Surfside before Dockside, which is one reason I prefer Surfside. It's also a little smaller than Dockside. We ordered room-service pizza, which arrived fresh and tasted great. My only complaint was how much noise came through the walls. I slept in the bed by the front door and could hear the hallway and neighboring rooms. Earplugs blocked it out, so it wasn't a problem for me, but it's something to keep in mind: the low price comes with noise.

The pool was a lovely place to relax after a full day, and getting around was easy thanks to the frequent shuttle to the parks. I was also surprised by how many good food choices the resort had. Our room was spotless and well cared for, and the staff were warm and ready to help whenever we needed them. Universal's Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites made for a comfortable, convenient stay at a great value. I'd happily recommend it.

We had a nice pool and lake view, and the staff there were friendly and attentive. The pool was clean, and the lifeguards seemed alert. My kids enjoyed the small game room, and I found the gym clean. The food was a highlight: I had citrus chicken with vegetables and potatoes, a large serving for a good price, and breakfast was tasty too. There’s also a Starbucks, which was a smart addition; even though I don’t drink much coffee, I got some anyway. The standard room was a great bargain, and both the service and location were good. The bathroom was small, and our toilet flushed inconsistently, which was annoying but didn’t spoil the vacation. Five stars from me, and I’d definitely come back.

May helped turn a really rough day around. We’d been stuck in Florida for four extra days after two snow-related flight cancellations, and after a terrible day trying to work at the airport and then in the car, we’d lost the room we had at Cabanna Bay after the first cancellation and had to find another rental car. May went out of her way to check us in early and get us an upgraded room, so I could work in peace while we waited for a flight home. It was comfortable, very clean, and had everything we needed. The staff kept checking in to see if we needed anything. We even managed a quick evening trip to the parks for some fun. We’ve stayed here before as passholders and always had a good experience, but this time the staff went above and beyond. As passholders at both universal and disney, we always say universal knows how to make both kinds of guests feel special. We’ll definitely be back.
