WorldMark Orlando - Kingstown Reef

We had a great time in Orlando. The hotel was pretty nice, with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms, one room with double beds and the other a master bedroom. It was about 15 minutes from the theme parks, and, ironically, the restaurant we went to was also 15 minutes away. The only thing I'd pick on is that the kitchen glasses looked a little nasty. I washed them and it was fine.

The suite was clean and nicely organized, and having a complete kitchen set made things convenient. Our room wasn't cleaned on day two. I'm not sure if housekeeping needed to be requested, and maybe I missed that in the property information. Still, we had an amazing time, especially on our family trip to Disney World. We'll stay again next time we're back in Florida.

The staff were kind and attentive, which was the one saving grace, but this was still my worst hotel experience in recent memory. We had AC trouble off and on the whole trip, swinging between hot, humid air and freezing cold. The thermostat was locked behind a locked door, so maintenance had to come adjust it whenever we needed a change. There also weren't many amenities for a "vacation resort," aside from a pool, jacuzzi, and gym. The "Studio Deluxe" was appalling: tiny, dingy, and dark, with a very heavy Murphy bed that required taking apart the couch underneath to pull it down. It sagged so much that I rolled into my spouse all night, slept poorly, and had back pain. We paid for a second room to "upgrade" for part of the trip, but neither room seemed clean. The more expensive "1 Bedroom Deluxe" had hairs from previous occupants all over the shower. On the second day, a housekeeper who came to help sweep the studio called it a "terrible state" and said she'd never seen anything like it. The jacuzzi was an eye-opening place to hear Worldmark Timeshare Owners and people staying through RCI spend two hours complaining and warning others against signing up or becoming an Owner. A few said they'd hired attorneys to get out of their bait-and-switch memberships. We stayed because we were lied to and bait-and-switched into a temporary timeshare version called the "Discovery Program." At the sales presentation, which we had to attend again, the salespeople agreed it had been a lie and a bait-and-switch, and said Worldmark was redoing its training because the problem was widespread.

The grounds and rooms were really nice, with apartment-style rooms that had two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There was plenty to do, including pools, a hot tub, and miniature golf, and I hope to stay again. I was so tired from traveling that I spent the day in the room. One thing I don't get is why they ask for tips when guests have to take out their own trash. Most hotels clean the room and beds, and I hadn't noticed a tipping QR code at hotels before. We didn't get any service during our two-night, one-day stay.
