Hilton Vacation Club The Cove on Ormond Beach

We loved walking the quieter beaches in Ormond during winter. The rooms were very clean, although a little dated, and the staff were incredible. They even replaced our king-size bed when we asked.

We enjoyed the location and would definitely stay again. It was quiet, with some shops and restaurants within walking distance. We had a clean, nicely furnished two-bedroom in the north tower for a week. We’d expected the pool and beach access might be unavailable, so it was a pleasant surprise to find everything open. Parking behind the north building was always available. There’s no washer and dryer in the north building rooms, but the washer and dryer on our floor were free to use. Our air conditioner leaked; maintenance worked on it during the stay, but it started leaking again just before we left. It wasn’t a big deal for us, and maintenance responds quickly.

I love opening the balcony slider and relaxing on the living-room couch while I listen to the surf. I leave the curtains open to watch the sun rise over the ocean, and sometimes cast movies from my phone to the smart TV. I travel with my family, so I usually take the couch, which I don’t mind. I always prefer a higher floor facing the ocean. There’s a big waterslide by the pool, right next to the ocean, so you can enjoy whichever you like. I’ve stayed here several times and have never had a bad stay. It’s definitely one of my favorites.

I enjoyed the sunrise, but there were a lot of issues. The air freshener was so strong I wore a mask the first night. The weather was nice, so we opened the balcony doors overnight to air the room out. Anyone with respiratory issues should be wary. Check-in wasn’t friendly, the rooms were small and not fully equipped, the dogs were barking, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. The lot was blocked with cones, and we had to ask the front desk how to park. They said renovations had left limited parking. Why book more rooms than there are spaces? We were told to park across Atlantic Ave and to be careful crossing because people drive crazy there.
