A big thank you to Michelle at the front desk. We ran into a few problems, and she handled them with grace and understanding. Her customer service was great, and she was a real leader, a five-star employee. For anyone considering a stay, the hotel allows dogs and has an odor of smoke and mildew. It really needs a thorough cleaning, maintenance, and renovation.

The only good part of my stay at Sleep Inn was the front desk attendant, who was polite and kind. I wish I'd spent a little more to stay somewhere nicer. I give this property one star. I stayed on November 11th and was charged an extra $30 incidental fee for something I didn't break or use. I was assigned a handicap-accessible room for no apparent reason, even though there seemed to be availability. A dirty washcloth hanging on the shower curtain and a strong, unpleasant odor, almost like an ionizer had been running, made the room uncomfortable. There seemed to be a vagrant presence around the property, and marijuana was clearly being smoked in a nearby room. The side door to outside, which should have stayed locked, was constantly propped open so people could come and go and stand outside smoking. That felt like a serious security concern. The trash can by the door was overflowing, adding to the neglected feel. I was returning from South Carolina with newly purchased equipment and didn't feel safe leaving it in my vehicle overnight.

The housekeepers were pleasant and did a good job, though they complained about their pay. There are homeless people sleeping in cars in the back parking lot. The manager can be crude, and the front desk experience depends on who's working. Breakfast is served daily, but it isn't very healthy and could be better.

The front desk folks are awesome. They work with you and get you checked in fast. The rooms are clean and neat, and they're being redone now. Breakfast is available in the morning, with a different breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. They also offer late checkout and handicap rooms, and the owner is very polite. I'm here sleeping in right now, but I wanted to give this Google review and fax the front desk. Come stay at the Sleep Inn In Ormond, you won't regret it.
