My husband took me here for my birthday, and the two-hour drive was worth it. We had a lovely room with a nice view, and the restaurant food was great. I started with $32 and won $847. We had such a good time that I’m planning to come back for his birthday. Thanks!

The room details made this birthday getaway more frustrating than it should’ve been. Our King VIP room had a balcony, but the screen door was broken and wouldn’t close properly. The shared balcony chairs had no cushions because of storm damage, which nobody mentioned when we booked or checked in. We had to ask for the fire pits to be lit, and they turned on the one farthest from any room. The tub was listed online as Jacuzzi-style, but it had no jets. Even the microwave was too small for the steakhouse containers we wanted to use for leftovers. There were other annoyances too. The down button on our floor’s elevator didn’t work, so we’d press up and sometimes ride along with someone before going back down. The pillows felt like bricks, and we both woke up with stiff necks and headaches. At check-in, I’d also asked about having champagne and glasses in the room as a surprise for my wife, but the desk said they needed 72 hours’ notice. This was a rare night away from the kids for my birthday, and one issue after another made it a real disappointment.

Shirley was a wonderful host, and the front desk staff were professional and welcoming. We also loved the food and service at Saffire Steakhouse. It’s a beautiful place to stay and play, and I’d definitely recommend it.

I went in hoping to unwind after a full week of work, have a drink, and play some slots. My first $20 turned into a small $620 jackpot.
