Holiday Shores Resort

We had a good time on our first visit, though a few things kept it from being a full five stars. The resort sits on a quiet cove, and when we rented a boat locally they brought it right to our dock. The rooms are spacious, and updating seems to be happening regularly. Our kitchen was fine, though my brother-in-law's cabin next door had a much newer one. The lake is absolutely HUGE, but by the weekend it gets packed with boats. I'd suggest going early in the week, when traffic is lighter, so navigating is easier and safer. In our cabin the refrigerator wasn't holding the right temperature, which made it hard to keep food safe for five people. Management knew about it but couldn't fix it immediately, and we understood. There also weren't enough towels, so we kept doing laundry in the cabin, which was a bit of a chore.

A few minutes from the stores and restaurants, but still quiet and peaceful. We were unsure about trying this place on our first visit, but the cabins turned out to be modern, very clean, with easy parking. There are paddle boards and pedal boats, a clean pool with lots of loungers, and nice docks with a great swim deck. Definitely worth giving it a try.

I've been coming here with my family every year since I was a kid. The owners feel like extended family, and these cabins feel like a second home. That little quiet cove has given me so much personal peace. The swim dock is my happy place, and I can honestly say this is my favorite place on earth.

The big deck worked great for our group, and the weekend was great. We had enough room to spread out, yet all 20 of us could fit together in the kitchen and dining area. The accommodations were perfect for us.
