Red Roof Inn Osage Beach - Lake of the Ozarks

We slept quietly, and the bed looked clean. The room was mostly clean and pretty large, but it smelled of urine and deodorizer. Since it was late, cheap, and already paid for, we stayed. The shower was okay, but the toilet had no water pressure. These motels should switch tub showers to walk-in showers for safety, especially since the bathroom floors aren’t nonslip. Outside, the concrete near the entrance was bunched up, making parking difficult, and people were smoking by the front door. We skipped breakfast. I wouldn’t stay again. I’d rather pay more for somewhere better.

There’s a little shopping area down the road, with quaint mom-and-pop shops, great coffee, and a cocktail bar. A gas station and McDonald’s are close too. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly. There were a few cosmetic issues that didn’t bother us, though they might bother someone else. For what you get, the price is hard to beat.

I travel all the time, and this was the worst service I’ve had. I booked a room, showed up, and waited at the front desk, but nobody could check me in. The two employees told me to call a random cell number to reach the host, then called the boss themselves and got no answer. They couldn’t say when anyone would be back. After waiting a few minutes, I left and drove the 3 1/2 hours home. The next morning I saw a charge. When I called, they said I was a no-show, even though I have proof I was there. You sent me a message saying I was on your camera. How could I be a no-show while waiting at the desk to check in? I’d sleep in a rest-area bathroom before going back.

The lobby and our clean room smelled wonderful, and the whole hotel was clean. I don’t know what they use for cleaning, but it smelled great. Breakfast was good too. The staff were very friendly, and we’ll stay here again.
