Barefoot Beach Resort

We traveled three hours and arrived to find the heat was out and the furnace wasn’t working. Management offered a space heater and a move to another unit in the morning. The heater made our room too hot while the rest of the house stayed cold, and we couldn’t shower. The new unit wasn’t ready until almost noon, so we packed the car to explore the area. When we got back, the entry code didn’t work; we only got in because the cleaning lady was there. The replacement code still failed, so we couldn’t lock the door when we went to dinner. Management refunded just $50 and said that was fair. We disagreed and asked them to consider a larger refund, but they refused. I was speaking with the property manager, and when I asked to talk to management, I was told they weren’t available. This unfortunately ruined what should have been a nice trip.

Our family of five slept comfortably in the spacious two-bedroom cottage, which had four beds. We loved our time at Barefoot Beach and would recommend it to anyone staying in the Oscoda area. The beach is amazing, and the property has lots of fun amenities. It’s a great getaway for a family or a group of friends.

Cottage 6 had a great view of the beach, decent-sized rooms, and everything was clean. They make sure you have what you need for a relaxing visit. We’ll definitely be back.

We spent most of our two-night stay at Barefoot in the water. The location is hard to beat, just feet from the beach. We also went exploring at Lumberman Monument and Tawas. There was no AC, but the lake breeze and fans in every room were enough. We brought our own fans as a backup and didn’t end up using them.
