Tru By Hilton Oshkosh

Since January 15th, my kids, cat, and I have been homeless after the Oshkosh Housing Authority made us leave over unresolved issues we had reported. We’d lived there for over seven years and always paid rent on time. After calling 10 hotels that wouldn’t accept cats, I’m grateful we found one that did. Sunny is my emotional support animal, and being able to bring our cat matters so much. The staff learned what was happening and helped us in several ways, giving us truly special treatment. Gavin, Jack, Dylan, Josh, and Hotel Manager Brad have been especially accommodating, kind, and nonjudgmental during a chaotic few days. They’ve made this difficult stay welcoming. I’ve stayed in hotels for past jobs, but I’ve never found one this friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat. The morning breakfast is amazing too. Thank you immensely, Tru by Hilton. ❤️

A brand new, very nice hotel, and all the workers were kind. Being right by the highway makes it a little loud, and the heater seemed to rattle some. My main complaint is the pillows. They’re paper thin and almost useless, so I had to stack all four just to sleep.

We were in Oshkosh for my daughter’s swim meet and couldn’t get into the hotel where her team had a room block, so I found Tru by Hilton Oshkosh. I’m glad I did. It’s right next to a Starbucks, and the hotel felt clean, warm, nicely decorated, and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I got a text soon after arrival to check that everything was okay. The lobby, lounge, and breakfast area is huge, with couches, tables and chairs, counter seating, and separate spots for work or studying. There’s a pool table and three drawers full of games. The hotel also has a workout room and pool, though we didn’t use the pool and I didn’t see a hot tub. Our room was clean and nicely decorated, with wood floors and a big, beautiful bathroom that even had a night light. Electric window shades included a blackout shade that made the room completely dark, a big plus for me. Breakfast was the usual continental spread, with the extra treat of whipped cream and lots of pancake toppings. I’d definitely recommend the hotel and will choose it again next time I visit Oshkosh. As another hotelier, I was glad to see the staff could enjoy their free time while working the desk. It lets them be themselves. I ended up chatting with the second shift guy for a solid five minutes about the game he was playing.
