Osseo Inn

The room was basically just a place to sleep, and not a great hotel otherwise. There were crumbs and trash under the bed, and the sheets had sweat or pee stains. The shower and tub water was yellow, and in room 203 the toilet made a screaming noise when flushed. If breakfast is available, it ends at 9am. My partner and I didn't realize we couldn't make coffee after that, and a staff member yelled at us when we did.

The first room had a strong stale cigarette smell, which bothered both my husband and me because we're sensitive to it. The man at the desk was kind and moved us to another room, and later even brought us ice when we found the machine was out of order. He was really nice throughout. Our new room was pretty clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC worked fine. The bathroom needs an update, and the towels smelled a bit off.

I was hesitant after reading some bad reviews, but all three rooms my family rented for one night were clean, and we'd stay here again. They're small, but suitable for an overnight stay and reasonably priced. The desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the newer TV, mini fridge, and microwave in each room were useful. A few details could use attention: the vending machine needed filling, the cold water tap leaked, and the bedding was rather skimpy.

We only wanted a basic place to sleep and get breakfast before a day of hunting. At 8am I asked where breakfast was, and the front desk guy said he'd forgotten to put it out, so the options were coffee and nanas. We decided to find breakfast somewhere else. That felt like false advertising. The water was yellow too, and the toilet in room 203 screamed when flushed.
