Embassy Suites by Hilton Kansas City Overland Park

From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but inside the vibe reminded me of an all-inclusive Mexico resort. Hector got us checked in quickly and easily for Valentine’s Day, and my husband and I had a great stay. Our clean, well-kept suite had a separate living room and bedroom, with a TV in each. The lounge’s complimentary drinks and snacks were tasty and a great perk. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. We chose the Cheesecake Factory, less than 10 minutes away, and the zoo is about 20 minutes away. 10/10, would stay again.

The bar is what sets this hotel apart. It feels like walking into your longtime local, thanks to the staff who make you feel welcome. After a stressful day, Murphy goes out of her way to make you smile, and she and Meredith are the reason I visit the bar. I was once told this was the first Embassy, but the rooms are clean and all the equipment works. Breakfast is always good, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the cooked-to-order breakfast is spot on. I’ve stayed at a lot of Embassy and Hilton hotels, and this Kansas one is in my top 10 in the world.

The staff are great and the food is good. We usually stay for a week around this time of year, but after finding the same drainage issue again this year, we may try another hotel next year. I reported the water problem during last year's visit. This time, we showed the front desk photos of the room, and they said they knew some rooms were like that and needed new carpet.

We had dinner at the Embassy restaurant and really liked the charcuterie board, pork chops, pasta, and burgers. Meredith at the bar was great with the drinks, recommendations, and service. The pool and hot tub were clean, and the fitness room worked for us. We brought family members here for a wedding, and all our rooms were good despite the hotel being on the older side. Christine, Shantay, and Brent at the front desk were wonderful to work with, helped everyone settle in, and kept us laughing. We'd stay again.
