We didn’t even want to stay in the room and moved to the Super 8 one exit away, which was spotless. This place was filthy, and the photos are borderline fraudulent because it looks nothing like them. Our first room smelled like cigarettes and was in poor shape. The second initially looked better, but there were cigarette burn holes in the sheet. The room had been made up, yet the same burned sheet stayed there day after day. The carpet had nasty stains, and I couldn’t walk around without shoes. There was no drain plug; when I ran the sink, it backed up and bug-like bits floated out. Black flies came from the sink and spread through the room. The toilet seat was coming apart and looked so nasty I had to hover. Stay away.

After traveling all day, we needed a quick stop for the night. Check-in was easy, the rooms were clean and well kept, and the location felt safe and was convenient. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was included. If you’re hungry, there’s a Mexican restaurant in the building, with plates for $10 or less. Pretty good overall, especially for a cheap hotel.

I won’t be back after reading the owner’s reply. Fix up the property and show what it really looks like in the photos. I stayed just one night, so I didn’t think there was a reason to raise the issues with the clerk. As a woman traveling alone, the groups of men hanging around and a woman who seemed to be doing something suspicious made the place feel unsafe and unkempt to me. I have no issue with paying guests, but that was my impression. The property is run down and needs renovation. Sorry, not sorry. I booked through Priceline and got a good deal, but the place looked nothing like the heavily edited online photos. After a ten-hour drive, I had to wait 15 minutes while a guest loudly argued with the clerk. The room itself was clean, but there were gnats everywhere, the toilet barely flushed, the tub was clogged, and there was a punch hole in the bathroom door. It looked like there’d been a fight, and even the lamp was leaning precariously. The old pool was full of bugs, and outdoor noise continued late into the night. If you need somewhere cheap, it might do, but I’d go elsewhere if possible.

After we checked in and reached our room, we found the bathroom door busted, as if it had been kicked in. My husband and daughter pulled back the blankets and found blood and hair on the sheets. The desk moved us to another room, but its door had no safety latch at the top. We tried to find another hotel, but everything was fully booked, so we put a chair under the handle to get through the night. A loud party was going on when we arrived and carried on for hours. We’d already been asked by phone whether we’d accept a king bed instead of the double beds we requested for three people, and we politely declined. The outside looked nice. There were lots of people living in the hotel who didn’t speak English, and seeing law enforcement circle around all night made us feel a little better in case something happened. I’ll always tell people not to stay at this dump of a “hotel”.
