Hampton Inn Baltimore/Owings Mills

The staff were friendly, and the hot breakfast was nice. I needed a place to rest for a couple of nights, and this hotel worked out great. The rooms were spacious and very clean, with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. I'd recommend it to my family and friends.

The bed was rock hard, like a cheap mattress, and the pillows gave way under me. I was awake every hour, tossing around in pain. Sleeping on the carpet might have been softer. The rooms were clean, the hotel itself was nice and clean, and the staff were great. Breakfast was good, though nothing special. The pool needed cleaning, with green algae on the steps and slimy tiles. Fix the beds and the pool, and I would have rated it 4.5 stars.

We needed to leave home for more than 24 hours, so we were looking for somewhere clean, safe, pet friendly, and close by. I booked online weeks ahead, and the app made check-in and checkout easy. The front desk staff were all helpful, and we just had to sign a form for the dog before going to the room. I'm glad I had reserved a suite for the first night while we waited for the other rooms to be ready. It wasn't quite what I expected: really just a slightly wider room with a couch. Still, it gave us more space to hang out than the queen doubles.

We've stayed here a few times because our daughter's college is nearby, and every time the awful weed smell seems to come from all directions. Is the contact high an extra amenity they forgot to mention? Reception could use some customer service training too, especially greeting guests and asking how things went at checkout.
