Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Oxford by IHG

The polite staff and convenient location were positives, but the property's condition was unacceptable for an IHG-branded hotel. The interiors were outdated and poorly maintained, and the place needs a comprehensive renovation. Our bed linens were clean, and we saw no signs of bed bugs, but the walls, carpeting, curtains, and bathroom all needed attention. There was also a persistent musty smell in the bathroom. My family didn't feel comfortable staying, so we shortened our planned four nights to just one, which we hardly ever do. The experience was extremely disappointing and didn't match the quality and service I associate with IHG.

Robert acted quickly and moved me to another room after I found a bed bug and woke up with multiple bites. It was unsettling and unacceptable. Management handled the situation poorly: after I emailed about the bed bug, the message was read, but there was no meaningful follow-up or proper response. The manager never spoke to me directly, which felt unprofessional and showed a lack of accountability. Several room appliances didn't work, and I was told the washer and dryer were down, which was especially frustrating since I needed to wash my belongings after the bed bug incident. The staff's overall response made it seem they didn't care about the seriousness of the issue or guests' comfort and safety. The whole stay was stressful and uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend the hotel until management and maintenance make serious improvements.

Chad was really helpful at check-in, and the breakfast was great. The location worked well too, close to campus and downtown without being in a major busy area. The hotel is a bit older and worn, but the service made up for that.

The hotel is older, and the toilet was dirty with crumbs on the floor when I checked in. The photos show how housekeeping left my room on refresh day. Eh, it's fine for two nights or so. Reviews don't seem to matter as long as they can get what they want to charge.
