Carolyn and Bob welcomed us with a tour and the history of the house, and Carolyn shared family photos and stories about each one. They made us feel so at home. When we left, Carolyn stopped to give us a final hug and was especially sweet to our daughter. They’re an inspirational couple with great stories.

For our 36th wedding anniversary, I planned a quiet, elegant B&B evening away at Springwood and surprised my wife. The old school elegance and peaceful location were just what I’d hoped for. What I didn’t expect was to meet such friendly, attentive, and gracious hosts. Carolyn and Bob made the getaway a celebration to remember.

My sisters and I went to Springwood Inn in the fall for a reunion after months apart, and Bob and Carolyn made us feel like family. When we mentioned it was my sisters’ birthdays, they surprised us with cupcakes, candles, and cards. The breakfasts were wonderful, served on lovely dishes with each place setting a delight. Carolyn’s cinnamon rolls are legendary in my family, and they accommodated my sister’s request for gluten free. We even took pictures of the beautiful breakfasts. We hiked and explored the little town, and the natural beauty of this part of Alabama amazed us since we didn’t know the area. We also had fun exploring the grounds and playing on the disc golf course Bob recently installed. I’d had my daughter two months earlier, and they kindly let me bring my baby. We’re looking forward to coming back as soon as we can.

There were rooms available, but they still would not allow a registered service dog. Maybe they might have let me stay if a cottage had been open, but I can't recommend this place to anyone with a disability or a service dog. It sounded like staying might be allowed, but there was no certainty.
