Flamingo Motel Oxnard

I realized an hour after leaving that I'd accidentally left makeup worth a thousand dollars behind. I called and drove back, but they said they didn't have it.

Online, the price is $90 plus tax, $101 total, with a $100 deposit, but check-in isn't until 7 PM. In person, it costs $110 plus tax and check-in is at 3 PM. I've never seen a hotel with check-in that late. Charging 25% more than the advertised price when a customer is already there seems like scamming consumers, false advertising, and illegal under California section 17500.5 (b).

The rooms are dirty and smell bad, and the older grandma and grandpa at the front are the rudest people I've met. This place is disgusting. It should be shut down or sold to the city for homeless people. I do not recommend coming here.

The manager came to the room carrying a large stainless steel club after I went to his office to complain. I showed him the problems, but he told me to "get out". While I gathered my things, he shouted "GET OUT NOW" and raised the club at me. The room wasn't clean, the sheets had menstrual blood stains, the smoke detector was missing, and live wires hung out of the walls. As I put my things in my 2023 Corvette, he came to the passenger side asking for the TV remote, which I didn't have. He threatened to break the passenger window if I didn't hand it over. I said I didn't have it, and that if he couldn't charge the remote to my credit card, he could go ahead and break the window. I was already calling 911, and said I wasn't paying for his service. He paused, and I left. I took pictures of my concerns. For an $85 room, he charged me $168.20 in three separate charges. I'm disputing them all with my credit card company.
