The location is about the only thing this place has going for it. Noise carries everywhere: I could hear footsteps from the floor above and conversations in the hallway and next door, as if the walls were cardboard. Housekeeping was hit or miss too. Some days the room was cleaned and supplies replaced, other days nobody touched it. The pool and hot tub looked dirty, and there’s no laundry room or free breakfast. Parking costs $50 a night. Government travelers can apparently put it through DTS, but it didn’t seem worth the hassle. They also charge cards in a way that’s different from most hotels, which could trigger a fraud alert. I was traveling on government orders and my card got frozen halfway through the trip. Their military appreciation lunch is a $30 burger and fries from the restaurant. Honestly, what a joke. Next time work takes me to Ventura CA, I’m picking another hotel for the free parking and breakfast.

The lobby looks great, but the rooms don’t. I paid for a partial ocean view and mostly saw a field and houses, with a sand dune blocking the ocean. The room had no robes, slippers, or shower cap, just bottled soap, and the coffee was bad and stingy. The TVs are huge compared with the rest of the room, if that’s your thing. Getting any service was a struggle. The restaurant buttons on the room phone didn’t work. The front desk transferred me to the restaurant, where nobody answered. They kept pointing me to QR codes or the website, but the 15 QR codes in the room all went to OpenTable or the spa. Nobody gave me the room service ordering website. They say you can text, but it’s an AI, and it was more confused than the staff I spoke with. At the restaurant, several staff members ignored me for nine minutes before I could even get on the table list. I don’t understand where the good reviews come from. There’s basically no real service here. What an abysmal stay.

Sean helped us with our bags, Tyler made check-in easy, and Maddie was a lovely server at the restaurant. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, and that warm hospitality made the stay even nicer. Our room was spacious and clean, with a breathtaking ocean view from the second level. I added some photos and a short video so you can see it. It’s such a beautiful hotel, and I can’t wait to come back for a longer stay.

The restaurant food was delicious, and they offer room service too. Our room was spotless, the view was gorgeous, and the staff were friendly. If you can, I’d recommend booking on the ocean side. I’ll definitely stay here again.

After battling LA traffic, the beach view from F635 and the sound of the waves immediately put my mind at ease. The bed was even more comfortable than my own, and every part of the stay was incredible. From the helpful, friendly staff’s first impression to the consistently positive service, this felt much better than a four star hotel. Thanks so much. I can’t wait to come back! Billy Z
