Motel 6 Ozark, AR

I come here because dogs stay free at Motel 6. The room was clean enough, and there were no bugs when I checked everywhere. The laminate floors weren’t cleaned, but maybe that’s because dogs are allowed. The shower had hot water and decent pressure, and there was a microwave and fridge. I like Motel 6’s new bedding, it feels fresh and clean.

I only lasted two hours before ending my stay. There were bugs in the room and scratching sounds from the walls, and it was too cold to manage without blankets. My dog had an accident on the bedding, but the front office was unhelpful, didn’t offer replacement bedding, and was kind of rude on the phone. While I was in my room, some man was able to reach into my car despite the cameras, mess with the mirrors, and leave handprints all over it. The front desk did nothing. As a woman traveling alone, I’ve never felt more scared or violated. The rooms are cheap, but at what cost? I genuinely hope no one stays here.

They were friendly, but even the second room was dirty, especially the floor. After showering I couldn’t walk on it and had to scoot around on a towel. The first room was worse, stinky and filthy, with a mattress covered in hair and brown spots, sticky patches all over the floor, and a bathroom that smelled like sewage.

The rooms are comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. The mini fridge seems broken or needs replacing. It doesn’t get cold, and the freezer isn’t making ice fast enough. It’d be easier if there were a way to get ice, or if someone offered to bring some after check-in, since some chain buildings don’t have an ice machine access point.
