The host was helpful with suggestions and got back to me quickly. I stayed in a room, which suited me since I was out all day, though I’d suggest a cabin for the pretty, peaceful view. The place was clean and cozy, and the beach is about six minutes away. Restaurants are only a few minutes away too. Beach Walk rest. and Grateful bread bakery are especially worth a visit. Nearby hotels charge $700-800 a night. I stayed for two nights in October and found the location great.

Hong knows the area inside out and can point you to good places, with advice on fishing, crabbing, and clamming too. We had a great stay at Raines Resort over a chilly January weekend.

Hong made us feel welcome right away and looked after us throughout our stay. He was a lovely host, with helpful local tips, including where to find great chowder. The cabin was spotless, cute, and thoughtfully supplied. From the little deck, we could look out over the river and dock. We watched seals and ducks, and went fishing, though we were apparently a couple of weeks early for salmon. The beach nearby was uncrowded and lovely for walks with our dog. We even spotted a huge bald eagle on driftwood there. It was such a peaceful, much-needed break, and we can’t wait to return.

The owner was always available if we needed help and made a great host. We loved the lovely cabins right on the river, so relaxing and close to the beach. A fantastic weekend, with the best of both worlds.

Hong was so kind and made sure we had what we needed. The peaceful setting by the beautiful river and the comfortable, quiet accommodations made our stay at Raines Resort feel special. We’ll definitely be back.
