At checkout I told the morning manager how upsetting the stay had been and asked what would be done. She offered 20% off. I asked her to speak with Tobi about accessibility and how inappropriate it was to laugh at our situation, but she told me not to be upset with Tobi because she was a really good person. That wasn’t the point. We won’t be back. We were traveling with my mom, who uses a wheelchair, and the elevator was out, so we were basically stuck in our room. When I told Tobi at the front desk, she joked, “Maybe you could take the stairs - oh wait, I guess that won't work!” and laughed. I said that was inappropriate and that accessibility is a serious issue. She replied, “I'm really sorry, but fixing elevators is not in my skill set,” then laughed again. I asked whether someone could bring us more coffee since we couldn’t get around, but she said no one else was on shift. Later, the morning manager, Jean or Joan, said Tobi was a nice lady and it was probably nervous laughter.

The location is hard to beat. You’re right by the ocean, and it was much more affordable than other hotels that aren’t even close to the water. The hot tub was great, though the swimming pool wasn’t heated. For a reasonably priced stay, I’d consider this place, but ask for the top floor. We had some hassles with the room cards. It took several tries to get working ones, and even then only one card worked for both the elevator and our room. The front desk woman was very helpful. There was also a horse, meaning a person, in the room above us, and we could hear them trotting back and forth. I didn’t sleep well because of that.

We had a clean, quiet room with two queen beds and a skyline view. The view was awesome, and the location is fantastic. We love this hotel, though it could use some modernization.

This is an old-school hotel with a great “cove view.” I left the sliding door open overnight and could hear the ocean waves while I slept. The sunset view was excellent.
