Sea Breeze Motel

For $180 a night, this just wasn’t an enjoyable trip. The queen beds were the smallest we’ve ever seen, and there was mold in the grout. The place is quaint, but only if you can put up with a hectic parking lot, drunk kids arriving at 1am, trash pickup at 6am, loud music from people’s cars, and neighbors ignoring the “No Smoking” signs. There’s no continental breakfast, just a coffee machine. We even had to wash our own windows to see the ocean behind three rows of cars.

We booked at the last minute and were so glad we did. The room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed, though it was a bit of a blast from the past and had only a shower. The front desk person was always friendly. The location was fabulous, and with the window open we slept all night to the sound of the ocean waves. Thank you!

The mattresses are the one thing I’d change. They aren’t awful, but they’re not dreamy either. A “Marriott quality” bed might even get me to stay several times a year. Still, the owners have kept this place really affordable for such a prime location, and I hope they keep everything else as it is. A comfy mattress with the sound of crashing waves would be amazing. I’ve been coming to the sea breeze for over 10 years, and my family stays here whenever we’re in the area. The rooms are small and basic but immaculately clean, and there’s nothing luxurious about them. I come for the view, and the price is right for the location. We absolutely love this place and look forward to visiting for years to come.

The location gets five stars, but that’s all I’d praise. For what one night cost, I’m really bummed. The mattress was cheap and thin, with completely worn-out coils, and the shower was tiny with mold on the caulking. My bath towel smelled like mildew, and the room was overly basic, with only a tiny fridge and no microwave or in-room coffee machine. The blinds also leave about an inch of the window uncovered on both sides. I don’t understand why they can’t provide a clean shower, a decent mattress, or blinds that cover the window. I’ll stay somewhere else next time. 11/10 would not recommend.
