Florence I Condominium 706

The daily sunrise from the balcony is worth getting up for, and the beach tar during our early June 2024 visit was definitely a problem. Bring cheap shoes you don't mind ruining, and check your feet before going inside. We love staying at Florence I and II. The buildings are small and not overcrowded, on a relatively quiet stretch of beach, with family friendly neighbors and good vibes. The pools and hot tubs at both buildings are cleaned daily, as are the boardwalks, which are power washed.

I should've taken the earlier reviews seriously before booking Florence I, 507. Communication before arrival was fine, but the run-down exterior made us think we'd made a mistake as soon as we saw the building. Inside, there was a strong musty smell, old furniture and kitchen appliances, and visible mold on some of them. The bathroom curtain had black mold, the sheets were in poor shape, and there were large black mold stains on the ceiling. Everything felt damp and neglected. The pool and jacuzzi were outdated too. They do daily maintenance, but that doesn't change how old they are, and I was worried about our health. My son got allergies and a cold by day two, likely from the poor air quality. The ocean view and location were the only positives. If you want a clean, modern, healthy place to stay, don't book this Airbnb. I regret the choice and won't make it again.

For a beach rental, it was okay, but I wouldn't return. The bathtub and bathroom lights were broken, and the walls showed a lot of wear, with damaged patches and rust. The freezer's ice maker didn't make ice, but water leaked into both the freezer and fridge. The elevator barely worked, and the garage exit door to the pool was off its hinges. On-site laundry was hit or miss. Maintenance is probably hard at beach properties, and while this wasn't a bad experience, it wasn't enough for me to come back.

The building was very clean, and the oceanfront views were amazing. We could be out the door and in the sand in under three minutes.
