Surfside Condominiums

For the past six years, we've picked surfside for our vacation. The rooms are comfortable and feel like a second home, and the pool area stays clean without getting too crowded. The beach and jettys are just a two-minute hop across the street, with good fishing there too. I couldn't recommend surfside enough for your next stay.

The pool was nice, and the nearby beach was nice too, though very crowded. But unit #118 was a cigarette smoker's paradise. It must have belonged to a heavy smoker for years, and the smell was so strong that we all got headaches. Everything we brought in, clothes, pillows, towels, restroom supplies, shoes, all smelled of cigarettes when we got home. We had to throw many things away. The unit wasn't advertised as a smoker's unit, and cheap air fresheners in every room just tried to cover it up. Please prime and paint the walls, ceilings, and cabinetry to get rid of that heavy smoke smell. We will never book with Life In Paradise again.

At this price, the location is amazing. The beach is only a few hundred feet away, and we spent our time either there or by the pool. This will be our new yearly beach spot. It's an older establishment, so I'd browse the condos on their website and choose based on which one looks most recently updated or furnished. Check the beds, couches, and flooring, then pick what suits you.

The pool was nice, and the unit was okay, though clearly in an older building. Still, we won't return. On the first day, water was seeping up through the carpet. We called it in right away. Someone replaced the towels we'd put over the wet spots and said fans would be brought in, but they never came. When we left Sunday, the same spots were still soaked and covered with towels. There was mold on the shower curtain, and management showed a general lack of care. We chose the condo because the listing said it was pet-friendly. When I called to pay the pet deposit, I was told pets weren't allowed after all. That was extremely disappointing, since it's the only reason we picked the property. Management didn't resolve it. They offered to move us to a larger pet-friendly unit for an extra $330, which we couldn't afford, so we had to leave our pet behind. Parking was another problem. Guests are asked to park behind the building, but the only entrance with a working gate code is in front. The back entrances are locked and have no keypads, so we often had to knock, jump the fence, or wait for someone to let us in. We also got locked out multiple times when the front gate code stopped working and had to wait for someone inside to let us in. The location is great, and the condo could be a solid rental, but right now it isn't worth it.
