We were passing through and stayed one night. The hotel was very clean, in a good area, and reasonably priced, with comfortable beds and friendly service. Several restaurants and some shopping are within walking distance. The only unpleasant bit was a rude guest squeezing his SUV into the same parking space as my motorcycle, which isn’t the hotel’s fault. Breakfast had muffins, cereal, yogurt, or waffles you could make yourself.

I drive through Kentucky at least twice a year and have paid more to stay at run-down, filthy hotels in Paducah, which left me feeling cheated. This time I tried a budget place so I wouldn’t feel like I was being robbed, and I was pleasantly surprised enough to write a review. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and cozy seating area, more than I expected for the price. I was very happy with the stay and think I’ve found my regular stop in Paducah.

I’m in Carbondale IL and work in Metropolis IL, so during last winter’s icy snowstorms I stayed here several times when the drive between them felt too dangerous. I needed to be sure I could make it to work. The rooms have always been spotless, and the beds are unbelievably comfortable. It’s also genuinely quiet despite nearby Walmart traffic and the hotel being so close to interstate 24. Everyone I’ve dealt with has been friendly and accommodating. A few small things need attention: some toilets leak, some rooms don’t have clocks, and USB ports in a couple rooms didn’t work. I bring my own phone charger pack now. Those inconveniences won’t keep me from coming back. The hotel seems well cared for, and I expect the little issues will get fixed. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I was accused of lying and repeatedly told to leave during checkout, after I had signed the pet form and given my card for the pet fee as requested. Another employee later verified that I had done both. I stayed one night. At check-in, they asked me to sign the pet policy and provide a card for the fee, which I did. The next morning, an employee confronted me because my dog had been left alone in the room. I didn’t realize she was the supervisor at first. Her tone was rude, so I asked for a supervisor and found out she was the supervisor herself. I admit I should have read the form more carefully, since it said pets couldn’t be left alone. Still, the situation didn’t need to escalate like that. She raised her voice, kept saying she’d received complaints and repeating that my pet had been alone. I calmly explained several times that I’d signed and paid as requested, but she didn’t believe me and called me a liar. She threatened more than once to call the police, raising her voice each time. Eventually she asked another employee to check what happened. He was much calmer, confirmed I’d signed the form and provided my card, and handled it professionally. She continued yelling at me to leave or she’d call the police, so I left without another word. If the front desk has security cameras, they should show what happened. What bothered me most was being treated disrespectfully and accused of dishonesty when I’d followed the procedures. Mistakes or misunderstandings can happen, especially with staff in training, but customers still deserve professional, respectful treatment. This left a very negative impression.

The room was generally clean and had the necessities, and the staff were kind, though they didn’t seem very motivated. The breakfast needed more attention, too. I had to ask for items to be restocked, and I wasn’t the only one. There have been little renovations over the years, but they look like cheap fixes, paint, and some new furniture. Everything feels worn, with dings and dents all over, and the hallway carpets need replacing.
