Apartment on the Golf Course

The room is in an annex to a private house and is a good size, as is the bathroom. Three dogs greeted us, and one was very playful. The refrigerator and room heater were quite noisy. There's a coffee maker, but no pods, just instant coffee and a few tea bags in a jar. Breakfast is only available on weekends.

The loud music from the main house, the lack of privacy, and the cigarette smell were enough to make us leave. My husband and I both got a bad feeling about the place, so I wouldn't recommend it. We'd booked one night while passing through Pagosa Springs, and the excellent reviews had made us expect better. The front yard was scattered with junk, and three off-leash dogs greeted us, friendly but jumping up on us. We were surprised to learn our rental was a downstairs room attached to the host's home. That alone wasn't a deal breaker at first. We were traveling with our two dogs and had paid a pet fee. The host suggested leaving our dogs outside with his dogs and property shock collars. When we declined, he said he'd come into our room if our dogs barked while we were at lunch. That added to the uncomfortable feeling.

The room had a cute log furniture theme and looked freshly remodeled. The shower bath had a huge walk-in. There was a small microwave for cooking and an apartment-size refrigerator, which worked fine for our one-night stay.

Fabi made us feel right at home and was always just a text away if we needed anything. Her hospitality and knowledge of the area and nearby activities were great. Check-in was smooth and friendly, and checking out was easy too. I stayed four days and three nights, and everything was perfect. I'll definitely visit again!
