Ala Kai Bed & Breakfast

The Ohana Cottage turned out bigger than we expected, comfortable, and fully equipped. We didn't need air conditioning since the fans and open windows gave us plenty of airflow. Breakfast was good, and there is a fairly large pool. The owner and his wife were friendly and easy to reach, and they sorted out the couple of small issues we had quickly. They bought the B@B a year ago and are steadily improving it. The decor is fine, though it should look even better in a few months. One small suggestion: a larger table on the cottage veranda would make it easier to eat outside.

The cottage felt like home and worked really well for our 10-day stay with my mother and daughter. We liked being tucked away, and the hosts were great about sharing ideas for places to visit and things to see. It was a great trip to Hawaii.

The hosts made the visit feel connected, and they know their community and guests well. We followed an itinerary from our host for one of our most memorable days on the island. My one complaint is the window air conditioners. I really dislike them, but the rooms don't seem to have a good way to bring in outside air, so they are needed. This is a great bed and breakfast, and I highly recommend it if you're in the area.

Eric and Suzanne were welcoming and hospitable, and the whole stay was easy. My husband and I had everything we needed in the spacious, clean Bamboo room, including a hairdryer. The ocean view was beautiful, and we'd happily stay here again.
