Nalu Kai Lodge

You can walk to everything from here, right in the middle of Paia, and the staff were very nice. The tradeoff is that the rooms are small and noisy. They have twin beds and feel cozy. If you book early, you might get one of the larger rooms in the building attached to the coffee shop, which could be quieter. Parking and getting in and out can be a hassle because of the central location.

We came for a last minute stay and found just what we needed. The staff were easygoing and friendly, with good local tips that helped us plan things to do. We liked it enough to add another night. The clean, comfortable room was close to the beach and cafes, and Paia Bay Cafe was right next door. A nice place to rest and recharge in Paia. We'll be back.

Paia itself is such a cute, relaxed, friendly town, and Nalu Kai Lodge is right in the center, very close to the beach. We had a great stay. The staff were super helpful, and our room was spacious and clean. There’s a backyard where you can unwind, and they provide beach towels if you'd rather head to the sand. A cafe just around the corner serves a very good breakfast.

The courtyard was a fun place to talk and laugh with other guests and the welcoming staff, though they do call it a night at 10 pm. Our room was clean and comfortable, and fine for the extra cost of staying downtown in Paia. Nice feel and an awesome location. Just don't shower in the waterfall!
