Wine Country Inn Palisade

We’d driven past this well-located Inn so many times before finally stopping in this year. After our first night, we knew we’d return. The reception was friendly and efficient, and you can have a complimentary glass of wine if you like. The rooms aren’t new, but they’re cozy and very well maintained, as is the whole property. On our first visit we ate at the adjoining restaurant. The food was good, service was fine, and the young waiters had pleasant personalities that made the evening enjoyable. The small gift shop has a little food selection, too. I tried the homemade frozen cheesecake and loved it. Waking up to the view of massive Mt Garfield was another treat. If you’re thinking of staying here, don’t keep driving past like we did. Stop and enjoy the Inn and Palisade.

Really nice little stop. The rooms were clean and elegant, breakfast was great, and the hot tub was warm without being crowded. Everyone on staff was friendly and polite. We also had a great meal at caroline’s, and our waiter juan was awesome.

I visited in May 25. The room, accommodation and facilities were all good, and the rest of the staff treated me well. The one bad part was a young man working at the bar who seemed much more interested in flirting with the receptionist than serving customers. It went on for a while, and when I wanted to pay, I even went over to do so and was ignored. We ate in the bar area instead of the restaurant, which turned out to be a mistake. That was the only blemish on an otherwise very good stay. Was it poor training, weak management, or just a rude, horny young man?

We had a room mix-up related to bringing our dog, but a quick call with Rosemary sorted it out. She was so kind and helpful. The excellent service continued at check-in, and we arrived just in time for a free wine tasting. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was perfect, within walking distance of lots of great local spots. I’ll absolutely stay at the Wine Country Inn whenever I’m back in Palisade.
