The Brazilian Court Hotel

The location made it easy to walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops. Our room was clean and roomy, with a really comfortable bed, and we enjoyed the food by the pool and the cozy loungers. The whole team helped make our stay memorable, from reception and valet to the bell staff, room service, and housekeeping. They went above and beyond. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this boutique hotel.

The staff were the best part of our four nights at the Brazilian Court Hotel. They were genuinely warm and attentive, and gave the property a welcoming feel. The building has history and charm, but it also shows its age. Our room was large, though dated, and didn’t feel luxurious. The advertised “free” night was confusing. Our room was listed at $476 per night before taxes and fees, but the bill showed the cost spread across four nights at higher rates of $599-$699 for our dates. It felt more like a discount averaged over the stay than a truly free night. Clearer pricing would help. Several things that attracted us weren’t available or didn’t deliver. The advertised boat ride didn’t happen because the boat was under maintenance, and we weren’t told in advance. The bar was under construction, the gym was across the street, and the spa was disappointing. The pool is tiny, and the jacuzzi is basically a bathtub. The restaurant has Daniel Boulud’s name, but although the food was fresh, it lacked depth and flavor. Room service also adds a service fee, a delivery fee, and an automatic 20% gratuity. Yes, there’s a delivery fee too. Without the team, there wouldn’t be much to recommend here. They deserve real care and recognition for making the place special.

Meghan, Stephanie, Edgar, Carlos, and Dane made the service outstanding. We also loved being able to request rides to different places around the island, and the team responded impressively quickly by text. The birthday treat they left in our room was such a nice touch. We had a wonderful stay.

Every interaction with the staff, from the front desk to bell service, was warm and professional. They’re clearly committed to guests, even though the building and the ownership vision seem behind the times. The hotel could be a Palm Beach classic, but it feels stuck in the past and needs a refresh in both appearance and outlook. There was a strong mold smell as soon as we entered, which made renovation seem necessary, not just cosmetic. The decor also feels tired and dated. The housekeepers’ traditional dresses were uncomfortable to see. It struck me as an old-fashioned idea of luxury that puts appearance ahead of staff comfort, function, and respect. We ate at the hotel and found the food generally good and satisfying. Still, the automatic 20% gratuity on every bill left a bad feeling. We’re happy to tip well for good service, but a mandatory charge raises concern that staff may not be paid fairly. The boutique felt like an afterthought, with little use of what could have been a lively extension of the hotel and an easy revenue source. With investment in the design and mindset, this place could be remarkable. I hope that happens soon.
