We paid more than $1,600 for two nights expecting an oceanfront room with two queen beds for our family and three young kids. Instead, the hotel said we had booked a king, which I would never choose with the kids. Expedia tried calling several times to sort it out, but the front desk didn't answer, and the hotel blamed Expedia rather than helping. We were left in the king room, where the AC was broken and it was about 80 degrees overnight. The complimentary wine promised with our VIP Expedia membership never arrived either. For that price, the poor communication and lack of help were shocking. Traveling with little kids is stressful already, and this made it much worse. We were incredibly disappointed and wouldn't recommend staying here.
The staff who were there were excellent, attentive, and happy to bring umbrellas, chairs, towels, food, or drinks. Isaiah was especially kind and personable. The resort was clean, the restaurant and drinks were good, and lunch by the pool was good too, though the menu was very pricey. We also had a great walk to Bennys on the Beach on the Pier. Our room was pleasant, but I'm pretty sure there was mold in the vent, or it needed a thorough cleaning. We paid extra for a wraparound balcony and ocean view, then got a first-floor room overlooking the outdoor dining area. The resort could use some attention in places, and service overall wasn't the best. I think they're short staffed, which is a shame because the team working there now does such a good job. It's a lovely Palm Beach resort for a little staycation. Being on the beach means there isn't much shopping or dining nearby, though you can drive to things within 30 minutes. I'd return for a quick weekend, but don't expect to be waited on hand and foot. That's not the kind of resort this is.
The charges were the last straw. Our bill came to almost $400 without any itemization. When we asked for a receipt, it showed $72 for two glasses of Veuve we never ordered, $80 for a cheap prosecco bottle that would cost $35 elsewhere, and pizzas charged at $21 each even though the menu said $18. The whole thing felt like a bait-and-switch. We'd booked a ResortPass day and were shocked by the state of the property. The lounge chairs were torn and obviously hadn't been maintained. Service was just as poor: they brought pizza without plates or napkins, and when my friend asked for a glass of ice, the server told her to take ice from the bottom of a champagne bucket. Completely unacceptable. Management needs to take responsibility. The General Manager should walk the property, train the staff properly, and hold everyone accountable, starting with himself. This was one of my worst hospitality experiences, and I would never come back. Honestly, Motel 6 would've been better.
We were seated at a broken table in the restaurant and waited ten minutes for the server. When our coffee arrived, it spilled because the table was broken. We placed our order, then the server came back ten minutes later to check what we'd ordered. After another twenty minutes with no food, we found the manager, who said he'd expedite it. Ten minutes after that, the wrong food showed up, so we left. Earlier, we'd booked an oceanfront room but were given a view of trees, with only a glimpse of water if you leaned out from the balcony. The staff seemed annoyed when we came back down to ask for a different room. An hour later we got one with a partial ocean view, only to find the balcony door wouldn't lock. In the morning the coffee maker didn't work, and there was no room service menu or phone number. Lovely hotel, terrible service. I don't recommend it.
We had badly made drinks at the bar, and the pizza served on the beach was completely burned. On top of that, my two guests were refused entry even though I was registered and had paid in full. I was treated like I wasn't being honest, which was humiliating. This was Room 109, February 11-14, and I paid nearly $1,000 a night. We waited for management to fix the guest access problem, but they offered no proper solution. After the stay, I called management and never got a call back. I want a formal response explaining how this will be addressed. I can provide receipts and confirmation of my stay if needed, and I look forward to a prompt reply.
