Embassy Suites by Hilton Palm Desert

The room and building badly need renovation. I was on the second floor, and noise from the room above was constant: footsteps, furniture moving, and even the toilet flushing. Water rushing loudly through the pipes made it hard to relax or sleep. For the rate, the room's condition was unacceptable. The furniture was torn and clearly old, and there were visible stains on both the carpet and upholstery. The whole room looked worn and unclean. It's hard to understand why rooms in this state are being rented at premium prices. I hope management makes major improvements, because this doesn't meet what guests should expect from an Embassy Suites property. I stayed at the Embassy Suites in Palm Desert on February 13, 2026, and was very disappointed. I gave the service workers a three because they could only do their best with what they had.

The hotel itself is well located, the rooms are comfortable, and my kids love the pool. Breakfast tastes good, but it gets so crowded that there aren't enough staff to manage it. The omelet line seemed to have more people in it than there were guests staying at the hotel, which made breakfast much less pleasant than it should have been. My stay in November 2025 began with a serious problem: Booking.com had taken my payment and sent a confirmation number, but the hotel had no reservation for me. I was distraught. Customer Service stonewalled me and did nothing during nearly an hour on the phone. I had to buy a room on the spot and pay again. Never pay for your hotel through Booking.com!

This is an older hotel, and not a top-tier place, but the price isn't too bad. The rooms are a good size and in pretty good shape, and things were fairly clean. The breakfast is decent for guests, and you should order an omelet. There's also a happy hour with snacks and a couple of free drinks for hotel guests, plus food available here. Everyone was nice, easy to talk to, and helpful. If you go to the 5:30 reception, hopefully Seymour will be the bartender, he's a lot of fun. It's a great spot if you want to go up and down El Paso.

We came for a weekend to visit our son's family and meet our grandson, choosing this location because it was near his new home. We deeply regret the stay. We arrived late and tired, and room 260 was dilapidated and poorly kept, with a broken faucet and a bathtub that kept leaking. After checking in, we found the elevator floor was broken up and a tripping hazard. I sent Alex, the person in charge, my concerns and photos after he texted to ask how the stay was going. He didn't respond. The next morning he texted the same question again, as if I hadn't replied. The working staff were pleasant, hardworking, and attentive, but $315 a night with the Hilton name attached did not pass the smell test. I'm a Hilton Honors member, and I caution readers against booking here. We were extremely disappointed. No one made an effort until the next day, when I spoke at the front desk to another man in charge and asked to move rooms. He said the hotel was completely booked. They sent maintenance to address the faucet and shower head, which was also malfunctioning. My wife wanted to leave rather than be consumed by this major inconvenience, and I took her advice. We're both seniors, and felt tolerated instead of heard or helped. Expedia, please don't mislead people with fancy pictures. The hotel needs major repairs and doesn't reflect our usual Hilton experience. It needs a major revamp to meet the quality and experience associated with Hilton.
