There isn't a restaurant on site, but downtown is only a short walk away. The fitness area is small and closes with the lobby, which was at 6 pm during our stay. We were there with our teenagers over Thanksgiving week, and our vacation rental was spacious and well equipped. It could have used a few basic staples, like spices, though I'm not sure whether that applies to every rental. The smaller pools are spread among the different areas, and the big pool was awesome. Good value for what we paid.

I didn't stay at the resort, so my rating is just for the golf course. Getting there was easy and the staff were wonderful, but the price felt a little high for the quality. With my handicap, I ended up playing the back tees, which was unusual for me. The greens were fuzzy rather than firm, almost like temporary greens, though I don't know if they're always like that. Two holes caught my interest as a challenge, while most of the course was pretty straightforward. It could be good for practice or beginners. They made what I think is the best layout possible for the land they have.

Julian and Lucene were amazing. My brother and I played nine holes at this friendly local course, and enjoyed the good food and drinks. Great place.

We've been coming every year and love it. It's a relaxing place to enjoy Palm Desert, and the history of this being one of the desert's first resorts is amazing.

I've been going to Shadow Mountain for seven years and always enjoy staying there. We go in early June, when it's already hot, and have fun in the pool. The beds could be more comfortable, though.
