Emerald Desert RV Resort

This is a safe, friendly, central place, with nicely landscaped grounds, full hookups, pickleball, and two good pools. There are lots of planned activities, and during our winter visit there were plenty of snowbirds and retirees with nice rigs, many staying for months. We chatted with a neighbor who was there with her husband for four months. We took a jacuzzi every evening before bed. I did a few loads of laundry. It was somewhat pricey at $5 per wash and $5 per dry, but having it available was very convenient. We happened to be there on Valentine's Day, when they were planning a dinner and dance. There wasn't any food, drink, or service, though.

Our group of 20 RVs had an easy time gathering here for an Airstream Rally, and the resort is close to a grocery store. The grounds are green, pretty, and very well kept. The pool was great, and they even had a live band there on Saturday night. Great RV resort, we'll be back next year.

A great place to meet people, especially through pickleball at the resort. The location is great too. There is some noise from the train and freeway, but it wouldn't stop me from coming back.

The clubhouse was great for our motorhome club, and the resort was accommodating about letting our group use it. This is still one of our favorite places in the Palm Desert area, but constant overwatering made this visit very difficult. The welcome package says the resort is in a drought area and asks guests to conserve water, yet there was so much watering that parts of the grounds never fully dried. I mentioned my soaking wet site to the office when I arrived at 4pm, while trying to set up, and was told watering would happen at night from then on. Even with the 9PM-6AM schedule, everything stayed wet all day. Our members were sitting outside during the early afternoon when the sprinklers came on and soaked them. Walking on the grass right outside the motorhome meant squishing through it, and our dogs were constantly wet and needed drying before coming inside. We had to dry our feet too. We basically had to treat what should have been a perfect-weather trip as a total rainout because the ground and grass were so wet. We were drenched from the overwatering.
