The Westin Desert Willow Villas, Palm Desert

The resort has a campus feel, with rooms in easy-to-navigate two-story buildings. We were here for a convention, and the walk between our room and the convention space was simple. Great beds, good pillows, and the place was clean and smelled fresh. If you hold a convention here, you're in! I'd love to return.

I felt ignored and inconvenienced for raising a legitimate concern, and I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it. A personal item was stolen from my room during my stay. I reported it right away and expected concern, professionalism, and some reasonable effort to investigate. Instead, manager Chelsi Venberg was dismissive, rude, and unhelpful. There was no urgency or empathy, and no meaningful attempt to address the theft or help me feel valued as a guest. The loss itself was upsetting, but the poor service and lack of accountability made everything worse. Guests trust a hotel with their belongings and safety, so reports like this should be taken seriously. If security, professionalism, and respectful treatment matter to you when something goes wrong, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

The best thing about the stay was being right on the incredible desert willow golf course. The front office can arrange a golf cart ride to the clubhouse, and carts are also available for getting around the large property. There are pools and hot tubs, plus a great poolside bar with a good bartender; food can be delivered from the main kitchen. Our room was huge, with a full kitchen, table, big couch, TV room, separate bedroom, and balcony. It felt more like a vacation rental condo. It's not five-star luxury or a multi-restaurant property, but the price was reasonable and the overall experience was great. There's a decent restaurant and a Starbucks coffee and snack shop on site, with iconic restaurants nearby.

I loved how easy checkout was, and the front desk made scheduling a room refresh simple. From arrival to departure, we felt welcome, and the setting is stunning with so many amenities that there's little reason to leave unless you want to. We enjoyed the tasty food at Agave. The concierge was thoughtful and kind when explaining timeshare options, and it was the first time I'd considered one. That was because of the way he presented it. The Westin is always a wonderful experience, and this was one of my favorite stays, exceptional even by that standard.
