The grounds have lots of trees and shrubs for shade and privacy, and the citrus trees fruit late in the year. There are three well-kept pools and hot tubs, and people around them are usually friendly and chatty, or leave you be if you prefer. The location is handy too, across from the convention center and casino and an easy walk to downtown. We’ve booked through VRBO several times, staying for a month each visit. There are one- and two-bedroom layouts. We choose the upstairs, north-facing one-bedroom because the other sides get strong sun at different times of day. Since the units are individually owned, their quality varies, but all the ones we’ve stayed in have been great. Most guests seem older, and children who are there are often visiting grandparents, so it’s not really kid-friendly. On the east side there’s a dormant construction site that we’ve heard might become active again. Noise and dust could be an issue for a while if that happens. A five-story hotel is planned there. We intend to return every year.
