Desert Sun Resort

The only thing to consider is that downtown may be just outside walking distance for most people. It’s a three-minute drive to the middle of everything, though. The hotel has friendly staff, nice updated rooms, and an immaculate shared courtyard with two heated pools and a hot tub. Awesome place, and I’d definitely come back.

We loved riding the bikes around Movie Colony in the morning. The hotel was very quiet during our stay, though I’m not sure if it gets busier in summer, and at times it felt like the whole place was our house. There was always something to do: heated pool, games, hot tub, fire pit, gym, pool table, free bikes, tennis, and more. The hotel bar’s lunch was 10/10, and we would’ve eaten there every day, but the restaurant is only open on weekends. The aesthetic, vibe, food, rooms, and activities were all great, and everything looked just like the online pictures, or even better. From the moment we walked in, we felt relaxed and didn’t want to leave. The location is good if you want a quieter area, but you’ll need to drive or Uber to the middle of downtown. Our only suggestion is blackout curtains, since it got quite bright in the mornings. We’ll be back.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, with attention to every detail, and the amenities feel thoughtful and trendy. Service was fantastic, and the beds and pillows were actually comfy, which can be hard to find. We also appreciated the filtered water stations and morning coffee. My only changes would be to add music at the pool and extend the restaurant hours, or at least the bar hours. Otherwise, no notes. I’d definitely return!

Casa Palma was beautiful, peaceful, and fun, and the staff were the best. We had a fantastic vacation and loved the food. I hope it always stays just as it is, because we’ll definitely come back.
