We paid $190 a night for two nights, but left early the morning after our first night when we found a huge stain on the mattress we’d slept on. That wasn’t the only problem, and we still haven’t received the $10 change we were owed. The room itself was nice, but there was no comforter, so we had to ask for bedding. The blankets we got had something crusty on them and felt dirty, so we didn’t use them. The playrooms were disgusting: dirty linens, towels on the floor, beer cans, men’s flip-flops, and used condoms. There were weeds everywhere, laundry piled on beds and in carts, and no overnight staff in case of a need or emergency. There was nobody available to speak with in person about the problems. The hot tub was green, and the pool areas were in disarray, with broken or toppled umbrellas and missing mattresses from the outdoor beds. We were told repeatedly during the tour that the property had a takeover the previous weekend, which was why it was so messy and damaged. The website makes it look like a fun party place with nightly themes, but it was misleading. We saw only two other couples. As we left, I called the number and spoke to a staff member who said she’d be happy to refund the night we didn’t stay, but couldn’t refund the night we had. I’ve tried calling and emailing since to request a refund and have gotten no phone answer or email reply. The money was taken from us.

Don is why we keep coming back to EDR. He’s an incredible host, pays attention to requests, and goes out of his way to make sure everyone’s happy. We used to go to Tuscany, and when it closed we followed Don to EDR. We’ll follow him anywhere. The resort is older and some rooms need attention, but as long as Don keeps managing it and hosting events, those issues are small next to how much fun we have there.

The pools and hot tub were green, and weeds were all over the property. The playrooms had empty beer cans and condoms scattered across the floors, the sheets were dirty, and the mattresses were stained and gross. They advertise a party every night, but when we got there, nobody was around. The customer service was horrible. A health inspector should shut this place down immediately.

Once we got inside, we were pleasantly surprised: the pools and hot tubs were clean and inviting, the rooms tidy and comfortable, and the playrooms spacious and well laid out. There was only one other couple there on the Sunday night of U.S. Thanksgiving weekend, so the four of us practically had the entire resort to ourselves. The property is huge and in a great spot near downtown Palm Springs and the airport. It has all the right pieces, but needs more guests. We’d actually driven past on our first visit because there were no cars in the lot, then went on to our second-choice resort in Desert Hot Springs. The location is fantastic compared with other lifestyle and clothing-optional resorts in the area. We don’t know what the owners plan to do, especially with the property listed for sale. With more social media activity, advertising, word of mouth, and consistent service, EDR could easily become a top destination for the swinger and lifestyle community.

September 2025 update: We had such a good time that we booked Friday and Saturday night. We got there around noon and were able to check in early. Our clean room was by the quiet pool, and the AC was already on, which was nice. We claimed a pool spot for our towels and cooler. We didn’t get a cabana and learned they cost $200. The EZ pool wasn’t running, but the main and quiet pools and hot tubs were at perfect temperatures. The couples we met were fun and cool. There were fewer people than on our last visit, which made things feel more intimate. The music was great all weekend. Don, the owner, was friendly, and the staff were great too. The playrooms had good AC. It was another hot weekend, so we skipped the areas in the maze. Two things weren’t so good. There were no towel bars, so we had to hang towels on the shower curtain bar or a chair to dry. And music played loudly all night in the quiet area. The room’s AC mostly covered it, but it was quite loud whenever the AC cycled off. Even so, we really enjoyed the stay and will be back for another weekend. August 2025: We were new to the place and tried a day pass. The parking lot was full when we arrived, but we found a spot on the street. The front desk host was helpful and answered our questions. Without a room, we used the locker room, which wasn’t well maintained and looked more like storage. We arrived around 1 p.m. and all the shaded chaise lounges were taken, but we put our things on a table with an umbrella. Cabanas were available in reserved areas for an extra fee, though we don’t know how much. There were about 40 people in the main pool, with a DJ playing fun party music. They had pizza, but we didn’t try any. We walked around to get a look at the grounds, then went in the pool. A shade sail covered part of it, which was great in the heat. The couples we met were friendly, and we really liked the vibe. Because it was so hot, we stayed in the pool the whole time and didn’t visit the maze or playroom. We had a great time and plan to return, book a room, and stay for the weekend.
