The Oasis

The resort is beautiful, with great pools, and it’s always felt peaceful to stay there, never too crowded or party-heavy. I don’t live in California anymore, so I can’t visit as often, but I’d absolutely come back. I first stayed at The Oasis Resort in Palm Springs in 2014, and it became one of the most meaningful trips of my life. My dad went with his childhood friend, and they brought me and his friend’s daughter. We became best friends that day. We stayed in one of the houses and kept returning to the same unit over the years, making so many memories there. Recently, we wanted matching friendship tattoos with the house number we’d always stayed in. After more than seven years away, we couldn’t remember it and had no photos. I called the resort without expecting much, but Misty and Grace spent about 20 minutes on the phone helping me narrow it down. They then connected me with Hayley, who went to the house and sent photos so we could confirm it was the right one. Thanks to them, we found the number that means so much to us. It was a special full-circle moment, and I’m so grateful. We’ve always had a great experience there. Thank you again to Misty, Grace, and especially Hayley. You seriously made my day.

We’ve vacationed at the oasis many times, and the resort never disappoints. The grounds are impeccable and very clean, with eight pools and hot tubs. It feels very safe, too, since you need a key to get into the resort. We’re scheduled to go back in October 2026!

We arrived tired and hot at the 4:00 pm check-in time, after a day with near-record highs, but our room wasn’t ready. We couldn’t check in until 5:55 pm, almost two hours later, and didn’t even get an apology. When I raised the wait with the receptionist, she didn’t seem to care and said I’d need to speak with the manager. The manager never contacted us. A terrible start to the stay, and we won’t be back.

The views of Mount San Jacinto were beautiful, and I liked the relaxed feel of the place. I’d never visited Palm Springs before and left satisfied. The grounds are manicured and easy to walk around without feeling overly controlled. There are at least eight pools, and if one or two are full, another is only a 2-5 minute walk away. I spent about a week here on vacation, lounging on the balcony or walking to a pool every day. There are quite a few older people living here, and some may give you a dirty look over your hair or clothes, or ask a very forward, borderline offensive question. Mostly, if you stay off their lawns and away from their side of the hot tub, they leave you alone. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s five stars from me. One kid also stole my shirt while I was in the pool, and I never got it back. Whatever.
