Holiday Inn Palmdale-Lancaster by IHG

The rooms have good beds, nice furniture and lighting, and the heat and AC work well. But my first room had a noticeable buzzing sound every two minutes that lasted about 30 seconds, so I had to switch rooms. The front desk guy was unpleasant when I raised the noise issue, and the service felt bad, like they didn’t care about making things difficult for guests. The online price was lower than what they quoted at the desk. Usually a hotel will match it, but they told me to book online instead. That wasted my time and gave them no benefit. Better customer service would have meant handling it differently.

The shower had no water pressure, the room smelled like a dead mouse, and the manager was rude. This is an IHG property but privately owned. When you complain to IHG, they just pass the complaint to the manager you’re complaining about, so I don’t think anything will come of it. Don’t stay here.

The staff were extremely kind, nice, and helpful, which was the one plus. The rooms were okay but definitely older, and the breakfast was not good at all. Everything was cold or stale. With better options in the area, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, my family and I arrived at 1:40 am after a grueling drive at our favorite place, I.H.G. Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn brand feels like our home away from home, and we love it and recommend it to everyone we know. But our check-in and checkout at The Holiday Inn Palmdale-Lancaster by IHG, 38630 5th St W, Palmdale, CA 93551, were the most lackadaisical and bitter experiences. I’m a PLATINUM-ELITE MEMBER of I.H.G., and found the lack of professionalism unacceptable and downright disrespectful. The front desk was unattended. We waited 10-15 minutes, tried a light knock and a moderate “Hello” with no response, and then called the direct number listed on Google Maps. A male gentleman finally appeared, without greeting us or offering a warm welcome. It felt like I was bothering him. I politely greeted him and gave the reservation details for two rooms and four people. He didn’t ask if I wanted water or other amenities, or whether I wanted extra points for my stay, which is required with an I.H.G. PLATINUM-ELITE Membership. The bill was also $50 dollars more per room than my confirmation. When I asked why, he said it was a “security” deposit. I could understand the deposit, but it should have been explained during check-in. The next morning, Sunday, October 19th, at 9:47 am PST, there was no coffee. In my experience, IHG Holiday Inn coffee tastes great and is always available and hot. I asked the female receptionist if I could have some. In a dry tone and with an uncaring look, she said there was none left and they wouldn’t make more because the restaurant closes at 10am PST. What?! With checkout at 11am, I’ve always found coffee available and offered by the receptionist. I wish I’d taken both receptionists’ names so they could get further training to meet the IHG standard I’m used to. Good service, quality, and peace of mind are why I choose I.H.G., and I’m continuing to invest a fortune to reach PLATINUM-ELITE STATUS. I won’t return to this hotel or recommend it to my friends, family, or my 150k + followers on Facebook and Instagram. I’m completely dissatisfied.
