Dutch Motel Palmyra

The room smelled like cigarettes as soon as we entered, and there was a cockroach running across the floor. The toilet paper looked like it had been used to clean needles, and the outlet covers were taped over. We booked for one night while going to a concert in Hershey. This was disgusting. Pay more and come home without roaches. Do not stay here.

For a quick stop, this little motel is fine. The woman at the front desk is always helpful, too.

The place was uncomfortable and filthy. There were bugs in the room, loose wires, black mold, and screws sticking up that I stepped on and needed a tetanus shot for. The road is so close that cars and big trucks were all I heard through the night. They do put out breakfast, though opening the room door felt like walking into a bug buffet. The bed was basically a box frame, harder than sleeping on the floor, and the rooms looked nothing like the business's own pictures. For what I paid, it wasn’t worth it, especially with the doctor bills after the mold exposure. I’m usually a you-get-what-you-pay-for person, but these rooms weren’t $20 and weren’t worth $50 a night either. Save your money and go camping. Fewer bugs and softer ground.

We booked more than three months ahead for a concert, then showed up on the day and were told our reservation had been canceled. They offered to book us again, but for $100 more than the original price. We had reserved through Hotels.com and learned they canceled after realizing how popular the Kendrick Lamar concert would be. Between that and the cleanliness complaints in earlier reviews, I can’t recommend the place. I only chose a star because the form required one.
