Comfort Inn Palo Alto

We booked at the last minute and had a really nice stay at Comfort Inn Palo Alto. The staff were helpful and friendly right from the start, and the place was quiet and peaceful. The room was nicely designed and well equipped, with a very cozy bed. The bathroom was great, and the hand shower was a nice extra. We especially loved breakfast and the fresh waffle maker. There’s also a coffee maker in the room, along with a microwave and mini fridge. For less than $100 total, it’s amazing value. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you!

I’ve stayed here often for over a year while bringing my son to medical appointments. There are nice parks and playgrounds nearby, and plenty to do around the area. The hot breakfast is good, and the rooms come with a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. I’ve never had a dirty room. Some minor repairs are needed, but it’s always been very clean.

The parking was tight, and check-in was average, but the bigger problem came when I opened my room door around 11 p.m. after a long day of travel. The bed was unmade, the bathroom was dirty, and there were crumbs and rubbish on the floor. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. I went back to report it. The staff member didn’t apologize or offer another room, and seemed doubtful until he went to check for himself. About ten minutes later he confirmed it was dirty and tried to call housekeeping to clean it right then, close to midnight. After another long wait, I was told no cleaning staff were available. Only then did they move me to a different room. It was well past midnight by the time it was sorted out. What upset me most was the dismissive way the front desk handled it. There was no urgency, accountability, or real concern for my comfort, and I didn’t get a sincere apology or any gesture of goodwill. The whole thing felt careless and disrespectful. This was one of my worst hotel stays, and I’d advise people to stay elsewhere.

The room was clean and the beds were really comfortable, but our one-night stay was rough. Starting after midnight, the smoke detector kept going off about every 40 minutes. The front desk seemed pretty casual about it, saying it probably needed batteries, and didn’t really apologize. We were there because my husband had surgery at Stanford the next morning.
