The renovation made the stay difficult from the moment we arrived. The lobby and entire first floor were an active construction zone, with exposed walls, dust, a temporary front desk, and a covered elevator. Getting around that with three children, including a toddler, felt difficult and unsafe. We hadn't been told beforehand that the hotel was being fully renovated. The pool was also closed for our whole stay for chemical treatment, and we were told it had already been closed for days. The kids were especially disappointed after seeing it from our room, and no one had warned us about the closure. Breakfast was disappointing too. There was no staff there at the posted start time on Saturday, so we spent $65 out of pocket to eat elsewhere. On Sunday, only a few items were available and none were hot. At checkout there were no luggage carts, which made moving our things with the children really hard. We'd stayed at this Comfort Suites before and had a good experience, so we came back expecting the usual amenities. This time the room had no coffee maker, dresser, or safe. We know renovations happen, but the lack of communication and all the service problems made this far below what we expect from Choice Hotels. We hope management fixes these issues for future guests.

April 9, 2026 We extended our stay by a night so we could watch the airshow in Panama Beach, which was incredible. The renovation caused no inconvenience for us, even though there was barely a real lobby and we had to walk around the work area to reach the makeshift desk. The young man working there was friendly and had our reservation ready. We were on the second floor in a brand-new king suite that smelled fresh, and I can't complain about the room. We booked through Super.com for $114? It seems walk-ins are paying quite a bit more. Breakfast was described as basic continental fare, just coffee and pastries. I'm sure the place will be even better when the construction is finished.

Our renovated room was clean, and there was just one downside: work was still going on downstairs on the first floor. There was no dresser, which was fine for me since I usually keep things in my suitcase, but my girl likes to unpack. Some drawers would have helped.

I arrived to find the hotel under renovation, and I hear it won't be a Comfort Inn much longer. After years of staying here, it feels like they no longer care about loyal customers. My room had just one lamp, no alarm clock, and no outlets near the bed. I had to return in the middle of the day to sleep before working at 8 pm, but someone kept pounding on my door, then yelling for me to open up. When I finally answered, they said they needed to put a couch in my room. I told them I had to sleep, but they didn't care. The next day I came back to use the bathroom. I hadn't been in there for five minutes when the pounding started again. I didn't answer because I was using the toilet and had paid good money for the room. They opened the door and came in anyway, carrying boxes of who knows what. They clearly didn't care about my privacy or whether I got any sleep. Don't stay here.

I was in Panama City for business while the whole building was being renovated. Even with construction underway, housekeeping was very attentive about keeping things clean, and the man at the desk was extremely friendly. My room was really nice and had already been renovated.
