It has too much of a retirement vibe, with the feeling that after 10 p.m. you’d better keep quiet, not walk loudly, or even breathe. This is PCB, so why close the pools? It’s already members only, so have people sign a waiver before entering the pool area. They should bring fresh towels daily too. The place is good, but it doesn’t feel like Florida to me. On vacation I want that feel-good energy, smiles, fun, and the sense that it’s good to be alive. Daytona Beach has those good times at any hour as long as you aren’t causing trouble. That’s the Florida vibe I look for.

We left early after a sleepless night with our family. People were kicking in doors in the middle of the night, though the police arrived quickly. The doors don’t lock, and the bedrooms in every unit face the road, with traffic noise that’s incredibly loud. It’s a large motel with no hallways, lobby, or real security. The unit interiors look nice, but the property is very old and hasn’t been maintained. The pool area was dirty and the hot tub was half empty. Real Joy was no help and the worst company to deal with, since they don’t respond to anything. The place felt dilapidated and unsafe.

We left after one night because the condo was such a disappointment, and it ruined our daughter’s birthday trip. We’d booked a family vacation at edge water expecting to relax, but the place wasn’t clean at all. The bed cover had mold, the laundry room door wouldn’t close properly, the balcony door was nearly impossible to open or shut, and dust covered the fans and fridge. The shower was rusty and filthy. The property also felt overcrowded, the walkway ceilings had several holes, the lighting was poor, and cats lingered everywhere. We couldn’t sleep because two large moths flew around the bedroom and woke us up.

Lovely views, though the pool out front isn’t heated.
