Edgewater - Windward 303

The Edgewater Leeward building has become our favorite after 30 years of staying at Edgewater, Tower One. We've spent the past two years in Leeward and love it even more than the towers. From the elevator, the beach is literally a one minute walk, and it's about 80% less crowded, so it feels almost like it's ours. Carts are always available in this smaller building. As we've gotten older, staying here has been a huge blessing. Edgewater Windward is next door, with a pool between the buildings. We still get full access to everything at the Edgewater. Our favorite thing is eating breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Ocean's Restaurant whenever we like. We can't hear ocean waves over meals back home in Ohio. WE LOVE THE EDGEWATER!

I got a deal I couldn't pass up, and the condo was across the street from the Fire Conference. The owner was very friendly and sweet. The space was laid out nicely with plenty of room, and the ocean views from both the bedroom and living room were beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. There are some really cool restaurants close by. Can't wait to return when the weather's warmer.

The rooms were nice, the view was gorgeous, and there's a great restaurant at the resort plus a Starbucks in the gift shop. I would definitely stay again. It's a good family resort, though I was disappointed that the huge lagoon pool, the biggest one there, wasn't heated. I liked the gated security and the pass requirement to enter the community, which asks for your tower and room. I assume it works the same across the street, where the condos, golf course, tennis, shuffleboard, and other pools are. But I didn't expect to need constant supervision for my older teens at a gated resort. Two of my girls had a Nigerian man in a white van try to get them closer to the van when they wouldn't agree that he could come "join them" in the pool.

The grounds, pools, and beach are beautiful. Last year we stayed in a condo on the beach side and it was perfect. This time our villa across the street was very outdated, with problems like a bathroom door falling apart and difficult to open and close. Maintenance tried, but couldn't fix it, and nails sticking out made it less than ideal. The kitchen and bathrooms need updating too. I'd rate the villa three stars, while the grounds, pool, and beach get five.
