Lollye on the Beach

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and being right on the beach was a great bonus. The staff were friendly, especially the woman with the short haircut, who was amazing. It’s a low-budget place, so don’t expect somewhere high-end. I’d stay again.

The pool isn’t working, and the owners aren’t going to fix it. I understand, but guests should get some reimbursement. Some people have spent a long time saving for a week at the beach, only to find out their little kids can’t swim. It breaks my heart. We weren’t told when we booked that the place had been sold. Its last day of operation is the day we check out, Monday, 7/7.

We had a good stay at Lollye on the Beach, and the room was very clean. Everyone was really nice, especially since we arrived after the office had closed and still owed money on the reservation. We could get into our room and settle the balance the next morning.

For a cheaper place, it was about what we expected, and the rooms were clean. The office woman handled a small reservation mix-up well and moved us to a room nearer the beach than we’d expected. There’s plenty that needs upkeep, though. In room 3 at Lolleys, the shower’s hot water faucet leaked nonstop, sending out boiling water while we showered. The pool steps are a hazard. On our first night, we took a quick swim late before closing, and my daughter sliced the bottom of her pinky toe on the shallow-end steps. Porcelain tiles were broken along the edge, leaving sharp spots. I told the office, and the woman said they’d been meaning to fix it. She didn’t ask if we needed anything, just wished us a good rest of our stay. The maintenance man I spoke with was kind and caring, and offered to help. It’s an okay low-cost place, but it’s run down and has a lot of flaws, including some dangerous ones.
