We had a good first visit. The unit was in a great spot overlooking both the pool and beach, and Joe, the manager for unit 420, was very helpful and friendly with information. Check-in was easy, and the woman at the desk was patient and nice. It’s a quiet area near Ripley’s Believe It or Not and WonderWorks, with Publix about a seven-minute drive away. Restaurants aren’t very close, so we used Uber in the evenings. The one-bedroom unit came with two parking passes since we arrived in separate cars, at $27.50 each. Parking costs $27.50, and they give you a band to wear on your wrist or ankle the whole time. The beach is just beyond the pool deck, which we loved. There are lots of tables and chairs, the pools at The Summit are heated, and there’s a guard in the pool area overnight. The weather was chilly for the last two days of April, so we didn’t swim much, but by May 5 it was really nice. I would have preferred one pool just for kids and another for adults, like the separate smoking and non-smoking seating areas. The elevators got crowded around check-in and check-out. We didn’t know about the other set at the far end of the building on the left. There were plenty of carts for luggage and groceries. The tiki bar had all kinds of drinks, though it would have been nice if it served food too. We didn’t care for Bikini Bob’s food restaurant, even though the menu was cheap. If you rent here, try unit 420 or 421 and ask for Joe.

We had a smooth stay in Room 1325 at The Summit in Panama City Beach, from check-in through check-out. The condo was spotless, well kept, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Its Gulf view made mornings and sunsets especially memorable. Being right on the beach was great, and food and entertainment were nearby. The Summit’s amenities were also top-notch. For a clean, scenic and comfortable place in PCB, this room is hard to beat. We’ll be back!

This was my fourth year here, and with the rising prices and little upkeep, I don’t think I’ll return. My room had several dead bulbs, switches that didn’t work, a sewer smell from the dishwasher, and a dryer that took five cycles to dry anything. The end and coffee tables had no glass and couldn’t be used. Springs were sticking out of the bed, and the couch sank about ten inches when you sat down. There were also more than a dozen stray, mangy cats around the property, leaving messes in common areas. The constant weed smell made it hard to enjoy the balcony. People smoked in non-smoking areas, and on three days of my seven-day stay, I came back to a weed smell inside my room and had to air it out. I don’t care what people do, but I don’t want to deal with that. Security was quick to complain about an 80-year-old lady using a float in the pool, but didn’t do anything about the weed smell everywhere.

The condo was clean, and the staff were friendly. It was a nice stay. We hadn’t realized the $27 arm bands had to stay on for the whole visit, or that losing one would cost $27.90 to replace.

The main downside was the music, which ran nonstop from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. It drowned out the waves and made it hard to enjoy a quiet moment on the patio. Otherwise, the two pools, lounge chairs, and tables were always clean, and the white sand beach was beautifully close. We stayed ten days at the end of September, four adults, and really liked being so near the beach. It was also handy to get breakfast sandwiches and coffee at the market.
