We only wanted somewhere comfortable to sleep after a long hike and didn’t expect anything fancy for the price. Instead, the mattress was badly caved in, the TV didn’t work, the bedding and carpet were stained, and there was no heat beyond a space heater that didn’t seem safe. Using the hair dryer blew a fuse and cut the electricity. The lobby was closed and looked like a bomb had gone off inside. We couldn’t find the owner, so we contacted Janelle, who I believe owns or manages the property. She took hours to respond. When she did, there was no apology or real concern, just an offer of another room. We’d already booked elsewhere, and when we thanked her, she replied, “K”. It was almost comical how bad the stay was. I don’t care how cheap it is, this place is despicable. The owners should be ashamed.

The room had no closet or other place to hang clothes, no fridge or microwave, and no breakfast. I spent about 30 minutes fiddling with the TV before I got it working. The crown molding was falling off, and a thin panel was just sitting in front of the in-room water heater. The furnace couldn’t get the room above 60. Then the CO2 sensor started going off, and the owner told me to leave. I had to get a Deputy to help me back into the room to retrieve some of my belongings. The owner was extremely rude. I’ve never been treated so badly in a hospitality setting. This dump deserves negative stars. Don’t waste your money on this flop-house, there are other places in town where people actually care about being hospitable. Nightmare.

We arrived at 8:10 pm and nobody was there to check us in. A note on the door was confusing and said not to contact them after 1:00 am, so we texted but got no answer. The note made it sound like keys in the box were for late arrivals, so we took them. We later got one text back from that number, just a thumbs-up emoji at 1:19 am. The rooms had clearly been used. There was water on the floor in both bathrooms, toilet paper in one toilet, and an unwrapped dish bar. One room had no fridge or microwave and was freezing all night. The mattresses were gross, and I think the keys in the box may have been left by the previous guests. I’m normally not someone who checks or writes reviews, but I regret not doing that here. I came home and have been really sick since.

The place is out of business, but reservations are still being accepted. We only found out when we arrived and all the doors were locked. An older man living in one of the rooms told us what had happened. The hotel next door was still getting people with the same experience. It was Memorial weekend, and there were no other vacancies in town. Don’t pay online. Contact the service you booked through and tell them the place is closed. DO NOT PAY!
